Design dilemma

Working from home offers freedom, but often with compromise. Many people sacrifice ergonomics to avoid bringing an office-like atmosphere into their living spaces, choosing instead to work from the dining table.

Meet WOBU.

A height-adjustable desk created to bridge the gap between professional ergonomics and the aesthetics of home — designed to blend naturally into its surroundings or stand out as a piece worth showing.

        The story behind WOBU

WOBU was born from a shift in the way we live and work. As working from home became part of everyday life, it revealed a gap in the market: most height-adjustable desks were designed for office environments, not for the character and atmosphere of the home.

Through in-depth research, conversations with remote workers, and dialogue with occupational therapists, we uncovered a recurring tension between physical well-being and aesthetic belonging. People needed ergonomic support throughout the day, yet were unwilling to compromise the visual harmony of their home by introducing furniture that felt overtly corporate.

We also found a strong desire for products defined by quality, longevity, and a more conscious approach to consumption. These insights shaped the foundation of WOBU.

The result is a desk created to reconcile ergonomics and aesthetics in the home — with a presence that feels considered, refined, and naturally at ease in modern living spaces.
